The owner is one of the kindest owner we’ve met in Japan, and the food was amazing. The egg toast with the pepper and cheese was one of the best toasts I’ve ever had. My brother and I really enjoyed.
How can I describe the taste and the vibe of this place?? Amazing quality, top notch service, a hearty welcome! Such a well prepared business owner, ready to answer all your questions and to suggest the best way to introduce pepper in your food. Do try the pizza, enjoy the fresh pepper and buy one to take back home. Absolutely amazing experience, thank you Otetsu and Yuko! Olga from Greece
I loved my time here. The owners are very nice to talk to and give a great explanation of their menu. They specialize in using fresh—not dry—black pepper, which gives their dishes a delicious flavor that is hard to find in the West. I loved the black pepper lemonade—it tastes so good that I never want to have regular lemonade again!
What a surprising gem hidden in a walkway behind one of the fish market alleyways. Looks can be deceiving and I’d highly recommend giving it a go for breakfast. We had egg on toast with their amazing peppercorns, and a really good coffee. Great people watching too. Next time I’m in Japan I will definitely be going back and try more of their menu. Can’t wait to cook with the peppercorns they sold there too. So delicious!
Tsukiji Pepper Cafe is a hidden gem among the bustling fish markets the area is known for. Nestled down a small alley, just off the main walk, you'd miss it if you didn't know what you were looking for. If you were lucky enough to find it, you'd be met with a friendly smile, amazing service, and some of the best food in the area. After traveling south east Asia for months and ending up in Japan there is one thing I missed the most, Vietnamese coffee. I was delighted to see it featured on the menu, and I got to once again enjoy my beloved brown coffee before I head back to north America. The iced Vietnamese coffee is just as good as in Vietnam, and a must try on a hot day. We went two days in a row, first trying the chicken sandwich and making our own pizza. Both were delicious. Highly recommend splitting with a friend so you can try a few things off the menu. They also let us try the fresh pepper they import from cambodia, and wow. What a flavor explosion and experience I won't soon forget. The next day we had a couple more of the sandwiches and doubled up on coffees. Each sandwich was fresh, with a nice balance of ingredients, and we enjoyed the company of the owners as we sat, talked and took in our final days in Japan. The pizza was delicious, of course you can make it however you like, for a large variety of different flavors and experiences. If you're in the fish market area, look for the coffee sign, head down the alley and give Tsukiji Peppers Cafe a shot. You won't regret it
Had lunch here on Sunday afternoon. At first , I was skeptical as there were no customers but the warm reception by the owner chef put me at ease . The pizza here did live up to the hype . Such a delicious hand made pizza and the peppers were so so flavorful. Also tried the handcrafted pepper cola , was spot on. Will go again for pizza. Highly recommend this cafe .
The best hospitality we had in Japan. And the place is so special , unexpected and cute. The sandwiches were top! The black pepper is very special! If you want to have an easy going , market experience then this is the best place you can go to
Interesting intro about freshly marinated peppers by the cafe's owner. Enjoyed the cosy vibes and even bought a few packs of the pepper to take home. The fresh pepper seeds pop when you bite into them, releasing an instant vibrancy to any savoury dish.
